During the second and third day of school, 2,402 kids in Playa del Carmen received their school supplies!
Keeping Kids in School was born in 2012 with the School Supplies Program. Back then, we handed 258 bags with school supplies in La Guadalupana, Cristo Rey and Junior High School José España.
Last week, we handed 2,402 to students from kindergarten to junior high school at the following schools in Playa del Carmen and Cristo Rey:
Playa del Carmen
- Adriana Cupul.
- Ko’Oten Kaambal.
- Gregoria Cob Cob.
- Tele Secundaria Iván Santos Escobar.
- Jardín de Niños Alfonso García Robles.
- Escuela Primaria Constituyentes de 1974.
Why do we do what we do?
We do this for the children. This is the reason: the look on these children’s faces, the reaction they have when they come running back at their class room filled with joy. Some of them jump, other clap, some look at each other in awe. They smile, they hug their notebooks, they organize with care every single item inside their bags.
So, if you ask us why we do what we do, we do this for them.
If it wasn’t for our sponsors, none of this would’ve been possible, so we would like to thank:
We would also like to thank all the volunteers who donated their time packing and handing the school supplies! ¡Muchas gracias!
