Teaching English at the DIF School in Playa del Carmen has been challenging. The students range in age from 10 – 17 and all have different levels of comprehension: some do not know how to write the alphabet while others are competent readers and even know some English. We have worked with the vocabulary for parts of the face and decided to add on more body parts today.
A lovely puzzle was donated to KKIS with simple 2-part pieces matching a picture with the English word for elbow, knee, back, etc. We started with that, then had the kids draws bodies on white boards and label parts and finally moved outside where they traced each other’s body outline on the sidewalk and labeled every body part, even belly button!

A good time was had by all and a few new vocabulary words were embedded in young minds.
