During a visit to the Engineers and Architects Trade Association in Playa del Carmen, children were asked to design their own buildings.
We always enjoy the time we spend with Architects and Engineers who dedicate their time to share with our children their passion for design and construction.
As part of our Connections Program, 32 students from primary school Constituyentes de 1974, at Cristo Rey, spent two hours learning about what it means to be an Engineer and an Architect. This time, architects asked the kids to design their own buildings and we were surprised with these kids’ creativity!
Estrella, for example, not only designed her very own hotel, she also named it after herself! That’s quite an entrepreneur! We would love to stay at this hotel, wouldn’t you?
We appreciate the time from staff and members at Colegio de Ingenieros Civiles y Arquitectos del Municipio de Solidaridad who opened their doors and hearts to the children who left inspired by this activity.
After designing their own buildings, kids joined the Engineers to paint, build with blocks and make the cement mixture. According to Malu Martínez, our Connections Program Coordinator, never before during this activity did kids participated so enthusiastically!
