The KKIS Project celebrated International Children’s Day this week in a big way all over the town of Playa del Carmen. We started early in the morning with Aurora Meade’s Clown Shows at two of the schools we help with school supplies in the Nicte Ha neighborhood. Great fun was had by all.
Before going back to these schools for two shows in the afternoon, we took donated sporting equipment from Gear for Goals and Bora Fitness in the U.S. to CECYTE high school. This is where we are currently doing conversational English twice weekly. The director of the school met us and was delighted by the donation. They don’t currently have a baseball team but this was enough equipment to support two inter mural teams.
Earlier in the week a KKIS volunteer made a trip to the elementary school in Cristo Rey with several bags of donated shoes and flip flops for the children.
Thanks to all who donated and delivered.
It was a very good Children’s Day!
