A couple months ago a group called Dream Missions contacted Gayle. They would be 2500 people visiting a resort south of Puerto Aventuras for a week and wanted to do something to give back to the community. She told them that school was not in session but we sure could use help with school supplies.  They arrived with backpacks filled with school supplies and a financial contribution to the KKIS Project.

Luckily the group pared itself down to 20 people and I arranged a bus tour for them of the neighborhoods that we are helping.  This is a photo of them at the Cristo Rey school in an area that has recently been carved out of the jungle. The school was built by parents and they educate 120 children in four classrooms.  We don’t bother with backpacks here, just a truckload of school supplies for all the kids to share.

One couple returned to our garage on Saturday and helped us distribute school supplies in the El Peten neighborhood.  Dean got involved in the school uniform shirt delivery.

Thanks guys for your support and we look forward to your visit next summer.
