The KKIS Project is beginning a new English volunteer program at Bachilleres high school located on Ave. 30 and Calle 12 in the center of Playa del Carmen. The English teachers there have asked that English speaking KKIS volunteers spend one hour two times a week conversing with small groups of students. There will be no curriculum, just conversation during which we can correct pronunciation and grammar. These kids have had English classes for 5 or 6 years but need practice speaking.

We will begin Monday, October 26 from 2 – 3pm and Wednesday, October 28 from
11am – 12pm and continue each week through the year on those same days.

Friday, October 30 from 4 – 5pm, volunteers are also invited to the campus to view the Day of the Dead shrines that will have been constructed by groups of students that day. And perhaps act as judges. I attended the event several years ago when my landlord’s daughter was a student and it was wonderful!
