Local Community Shines Bright in Support of KKIS
With a Purpose is excited to share the success of our recent event, Bachata with a Purpose, held on Sunday, August 18, in Playa del Carmen. This glow-in-the-dark themed bachata charity event brought together over 70 passionate participants at The Reef Coco Beach, the majority of whom were local Mexican residents.
The energy was electrifying as dancers moved to the rhythm under neon lights, all in support of a great cause. Every peso raised from ticket sales, donations, and raffle tickets went directly to KKIS, demonstrating that generosity knows no borders. This event was a significant proof of concept, showing that local communities in Mexico can be just as engaged in charitable giving as international donors.
The raffle was a highlight, with excited winners walking away with amazing prizes, all while knowing their contributions made a difference. The event not only raised funds but also heightened awareness within the local community about the impactful work KKIS is doing.

At KKIS (Keeping Kids in School), we believe that education reduces poverty, improves lives, and builds stronger communities. Recognizing that education is often unaffordable for many families in Mexico, we remove financial barriers to keep kids in school.
Nuestros programas proporcionan ayuda financiera y ayudan a los estudiantes a desarrollar habilidades lingüísticas, vitales y laborales esenciales.
A través de una combinación de ayuda financiera, conexiones comunitarias y apoyo educativo, logramos una impresionante tasa de graduación de la escuela secundaria del 86%, en comparación con la media nacional de menos del 50% en todo México.
