Children’s Day 2017

A couple of months ago at the 3 Kings Day party held for KKIS Scholars, I was talking to a mother – she was bouncing a toddler on her knee and sharing how proud she was of her teenage daughter. Soon she was telling me about her own childhood in northern Mexico – lamenting that her dream to be a doctor was never fulfilled and describing the burden her parents experienced raising four children on her father’s salary.
We have seen first hand  living conditions here which can only be described as basic survival,  where the average wage earner makes $250 – $500 USD/ month  and education is considered a luxury. Yet we know what a game changer education can be.
The KKIS Project wants education to be seen as a necessity – a critical investment of time and energy in a child’s future.

On this International Children’s Day, we hope you will join us in celebrating the children and supporting our mission with a donation.
