Bikes, Bucks, and Big Hearts: Transformer Institute Makes a Major Impact on KKIS Students

Investing in education is an investment in the future. At KKIS, we’re dedicated to empowering students in Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya to reach their full potential. We were thrilled to partner with Transformer Institute, a company whose commitment to education goes above and beyond.

More Than Just a Donation: A Company Culture of Giving Back

Transformer Institute employees visiting Cancun for a group event didn’t just participate in team building activities – they made a lasting impact on our students. The company not only donated a generous $5,000 USD to KKIS but also provided a fleet of bicycles for our scholarship recipients. These bikes will be a game-changer for students, allowing them reliable transportation to attend school and extracurricular activities.

A Heartfelt Connection: From Immigrant to Philanthropist

The spirit of giving back was particularly meaningful for Fernando Miranda, Transformer Institute’s Vice President. A Mexican national who immigrated to Canada as a child, Fernando understands the importance of education firsthand. He expressed his joy at being able to contribute to the community that nurtured him during his formative years.

Building Bridges for a Brighter Future

KKIS extends its heartfelt gratitude to Transformer Institute for their incredible generosity. Their combined financial and in-kind donations will not only empower individual students but also send a powerful message about the importance of education and community investment.

KKIS Vision

Improving lives through education.

KKIS (Keep Kids in School) works to build stronger communities in Playa del Carmen by eliminating financial obstacles to public education. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn and succeed, and we are dedicated to making education accessible and affordable for promising students in our community.

KKIS Mission

At KKIS (Keeping Kids in School), we believe that education reduces poverty, improves lives, and builds stronger communities. Recognizing that education is often unaffordable for many families in Mexico, we remove financial barriers to keep kids in school.

Our programs provide financial assistance and help students develop essential language, life, and work skills

Through a combination of financial aid, community connections, and educational support, we achieve an impressive 86% high school graduation rate, compared to the national average of less than 50% throughout Mexico.

• The KKIS Project

Our success is driven by the generous support of individuals and corporations who share our values and vision.
