KKIS Scholars come from humble origins, they are teenagers who are hungry to succeed and, in many cases, have had to fight for the opportunity to continue their studies, often breaking with their families to pursue a dream of a better life.
These students depend on your donations to complete their public high school education. In the wake of COVID-19, some experienced the death of a parent, others dealt with verbal or physical abuse, all experienced fear when job losses made everything worse.
But these students are adaptive, resilient and focused. Listen to what they say about 2020 and the experience of being a KKIS Scholar. They are talking to you, the big KKIS family of people who give what they can to help people they don’t know. You are extraordinary, and so are these kids….

Meet Fanny Cristel – High School Senior
This year was undoubtedly a great challenge for me; one of the most demanding. I worked and studied at the same time, and sometimes I did not know if I could continue with everything, but thanks to your support I continued to strive.
When I was told that I had an opportunity to participate in a scholarship that would help me a lot in what remained of my studies, I saw it as a hope to complete my studies and to have a livelihood to survive.
To have this support allowed me to continue with my studies, which I did not know if I was going to be able to finish alone. There were many sleepless nights meeting the demands of the school, but I knew it was the least I could do to have such amazing people supporting me.
The support you gave me meant a lot. It was a great honor to be part of this team full of virtues. I will continue studying. Thank you for everything, really.
Meet Carlos Jair – KKIS Valedictorian 2020
Really my last year has been quite a challenge. In the difficult situations that overwhelm us, I feel very grateful to have the opportunity of studying in a school that gives us all the support we need.
Having the support of KKIS has been a wonderful experience. The support they provide goes beyond the economic, it is moral, it fills you with hope knowing that so many people are willing to contribute to society in such a noble way that it changes the lives of many of us. Today I can say that KKIS inspires me to continue my studies to someday improve as many lives as they have.
To all the sponsors I say THANK YOU; Thank you for being part of this beautiful family, thank you for sharing what you have with us, thank you for being there when no one else was here. You have been present in every achievement to remind us to keep going and that Education is the best route to build a better society, a better country, a better world.
If you’ve ever wondered if your support really helps someone, let me tell you that you are doing more than just helping changes our lives.
Meet Neyda Jennifer – Beginning her 2nd Year of University
I study Marketing at the University Technological Playacar, and even though I still I have a long way to go, I am very proud of what I have accomplished.
At the beginning I was afraid to enter the University, meet new people, new professors, a new environment and new ways of teaching. Now people close to me have told me, my way of thinking has changed, I have become more creative and, above all, they see my desire to be successful.
In the KKIS Project I have found a family and I feel part of something very beautiful. I have to imagine it is not an easy job but helping people whose economic resources are limited is admirable.
I want to thank with all my heart, my Sponsor, and the entire KKIS project for the support that is being given to me. The fact that a person gave their time and resources to sponsor me and support me in achieving my dreams, it is a blessing. Many would like to be in my place and that makes me feel very lucky and grateful.
I know that when I have my bachelor’s degree and look back on my journey, I will see a girl hungry for success, and I will trace my path to success back to you.
Meet Joceyln – KKIS University Graduate
My college years taught me to face the unknown, to fight for every dream, not to give up on a bad grade, but to always improve. I had high and low situations that I thought I was not going to be able to continue. But I made a promise and I didn’t want to fail.
I met new friends, teachers and new rules, I saw many colleagues come and go, I participated in events, I attended conferences, I improved my presentations and overcame the fear of public speaking.
There were so many tools acquired during my stay at the university.
Today I say goodbye university, with a great lesson, smile, tears in my eyes and a great message. No matter how hard the situation is, go out, smile at life, fight for your dream and create a new beginning whenever you decide what is necessary.
I am infinitely grateful to GUSA and thank everyone whose support I received. Thank you very much KKIS for helping us achieve our dreams, and for promoting education.
Every KKIS scholarship student has a story, many of which they do not want to share, but all of whom are grateful for the opportunity you have given them. These kids know the value of education and the different life they can have if they continue striving. Thank you for making that possible!!
Covid-19 has made the already challenging lives of these students, more difficult. If there ever was a time to invest in education, now is it!
