Volunteers packing school supply bags in the KKIS garage.

Serious packing began this week in the KKIS garage that held donated and purchased school supplies we had gathered. It was decided not to buy backpacks this year and instead we took on more and more students in need of supplies. Our office supply dealer here in Playa, Tony’s, donated large plastic bags to hold things for each child. There was a list for Grades 1 – 3, another for Grades 4 & 5 and a final one for Grades 6 and higher. Pencils, pencil sharpeners, erasers, pens, highlighters, white out, scissors, Spanish dictionary, calculator, geometry set, precision compass, notebooks, packs of white paper and colored paper were selected for various bags.

The work of many hands on many days made for short work hours and much accomplished. Thanks to all!
