We each have stories of people we know here in Playa del Carmen who don’t have an education, can barely feed their families and have very few options other than a life of hard labor.
In this paradise where we enjoy the beauty and abundance that life has to offer, there are also those who cannot afford a public high school or university education – and in some cases even school supplies. They have no opportunity to relax or even eat a full meal.
Education in the 21st century is a human right.
Few countries have flawless education systems but nonetheless, education opens doors to greater economic opportunities and financial stability. The more you learn the more you earn. The more you earn, the more you can contribute to society.
High school education in Mexico is not free. Until that changes, KKIS will continue to work tirelessly to keep kids in school.
