Poetry Recital

When students came back from ‘winter’ break, over 3,000 primary school students from 10 primary schools in Zone 56 were challenged to write a poem. Two students from each school were asked to represent their school on February 22nd at the first poetry Recital in Playa del Carmen.

On that bright, warm morning, 20 students stood before parents and teachers, dignitaries from the state and municipal government and recited their poem.  Emotions found thoughts & thoughts found words.  Some rhymed, others were free of formality. All were thoughtfully and carefully delivered by earnest students.

KKIS awarded all students age-appropriate books; books on values and classic stories like the Little Prince and Dante’s Divine Comedy.
