Kids in public schools screaming with joy that they want to become Doctors, Lawyers, Architects, Teachers, Chefs and Entrepreneurs, received their school supplies in Playa del Carmen.
And to make these dreams come true, the first step is to give them the tools.
After one year of fundraising, of having travelers from Canada and the USA arriving in Playa with school supplies, plus, donations from local and international sponsors, children in public schools of Playa del Carmen received their supplies during the second day of school.
Step by step
Before giving the school supplies to the kids, Malú Martínez, a committed volunteer at The KKIS Project spoke with them about the importance of staying in school and how these supplies are the tools they need to help them achieve their dreams.
“I want to be a Doctor!”, screamed a little girl from 3rd grade.
“Well if you want to be a Doctor, stay in school, dream big and give your best. Finish primary school, junior high school, high school and university. And remember that KKIS not only provides school supplies, you can also apply for a scholarship in high school!”, Malú said to the girl.
Then, children raised their hands with excitement and screamed with joy what they to become when they grow up. Boys and girls screamed that they want to be Doctors, Architects, Lawyers, Police Officers, Teachers, Chefs and Entrepreneurs.
The school Supplies Program is the opportunity for The KKIS Project to tell them to work hard, be a committed student and give their best.
This is all possible because of you!
Seeing the smiles of children as they walk out of their classrooms to receive school supplies is the best reaction that sponsors and volunteers could ask for.
Thanks to Tickmill, The Youth Connection, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, SIMCA Desarrollos for sponsoring school supplies and to all the travelers who came to Playa del Carmen with pencils, pens, glue sticks, markers, colored pencils and sharpeners to contribute in this Program!
Thank you, volunteers from Rotary Playa del Carmen Seaside for packing more than 400 bags with school supplies in 3 hours!
