Backpacks, bags and boxes of school supplies.

KKIS Project volunteers have almost finished packing all the school supplies we have gathered for kids in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. There were about 80 donated backpacks that were filled and will be delivered to two groups of students for whom help has been requested.

The major delivery will be to the Adriana Beatriz Cupul Itza primary school (grades 1 – 6) in the Nicte Ha neighborhood at the north end of town. There are 414 students at that school that all need help, 251 kids in la madrugada (the morning session) and 163 in el vespertino (the afternoon session).

Our plan is to arrive everyday of the week before school begins on Aug. 18 (that will be Aug. 11 – 15) at the school and hand out the supplies as the children come to register for the new school year. If you would like to help we could use vehicles every day to transport the bags of supplies and help with distribution. Please contact Janet at: jlowepots@gmail.com.
