After many months of preparation (the fundraising, the counting, the purchasing, the counting again and again, stuffing pencil cases, filling bags, and counting out by grade level) the school supplies were handed out at the Nicté-Ha neighborhood elementary school. Over 400 children were present the first day of school (August 18th) to receive their school supplies. These pictures show the happy faces of the children who received their supplies with anticipation and excitement.

Many thanks to all the volunteers who have helped us the past few months sorting and stuffing school supplies, driving to all of our distribution sites, and being so generous with their time and energy to make this project the success it was.

Thanks also go to the wonderful principals and teachers at the school who graciously allowed us to distribute our bags on the 1st day of school.
