Surprise for US Charities
In the stimulus package passed by Congress a week ago, tucked back in the fine print, was a benefit that incentivizes Americans who are in a position to help nonprofits. It’s a new rule that allows taxpayers to deduct up to 300 dollars “above the line” which reduces their 2020 adjusted gross income. Traditionally, the charitable contribution deduction is a below-the-line deduction available only to taxpayers who itemize.
Just be sure to keep your electronic or paper receipts, which you will automatically get when donating to KKIS online.

The receipt you get will say KKIS Incorporated located in Colorado and will include the EIN# needed for taxes.
If you are a Canadian, you can also donate to KKIS, although you’ll have to follow the Canadian rules for those deductions.
This is a great way to help us feed our students until life returns to normal for them at the end of the Covid19 pandemic.
