The first morning of Thomas Cook/KKIS bag delivery it rained! The middle school, KoOten, was scheduled and we went forward, loading trucks with boxes filled with bags of school supplies, covering with tarps and many volunteers helped carry them under cover for distribution to every student. A few of the bags are blue (last year’s model) as we had not ordered quite enough Thomas Cook Children’s Charity bags.
The following day the other Thomas Cook sponsored school, Rudolfo Menendez elementary, was ready to go. There is both a morning and afternoon session at each school, so bright and early volunteers were ready to delivery a bag to every student and leave boxes of white and colored paper, white board markers, erasers and glue for every teacher.
Thomas Cook employees in bright yellow shirts with many other volunteers in blue KKIS shirts were greeted by the entire school population gathered under their huge dome and students waited patiently as class by class they received their bags then prowled through the contents with delight.
