Volunteer for Christmas to help students
You spend time sharing good food and great laughs over the holidays. You make treasured memories with family and friends and dive into the carols and Christmas cheer. But you want others to have those same experiences and often wonder, “how can I give back over Christmas?” Want to be part of a local organization that brings joy and laughter to children at Christmas time? Ready to put your shopping skills to the ultimate test? Join us for a bucket list adventure as you volunteer.
Volunteering at Christmas doesn’t just give you an escape from jam packed malls and the chance to have adventures in destinations across the world. It also allows you to become a part of a greater cause – something bigger than yourself that fulfills your urge to help people over the holidays.
Fortunately, there are plenty of Christmas volunteer opportunities. You can contribute towards international sustainable development initiatives aimed at protecting and supporting our most underserved communities. You can teach, support students’s empowerment initiatives, or join a variety of other community development projects.
Many projects are driven by a core mission: positive impact. Most are committed to sustainable, meaningful change alongside their community.
Joining one of these holiday volunteer opportunities gives you a unique way to contribute to those who have been historically underserved.
Early childhood education
If you’ve got a passion for supporting children, you could assist in early childhood development education programs. It’s safe to say there’s nothing better than seeing children caught up in Christmas excitement, and leading festive games and activities with these young students means you’re helping to grow happy, enduring memories.
You could also join in partnering to work on students’s empowerment while volunteering at Christmas. Join students actively pursuing their independence and futures. You’ll connect with incredible student’s while you “work”.
A bit of history
Giving at Christmas is not a new concept. Going back in history to the 13th century Europe there has been a tradition for churches to leave boxes on the grounds for parishioners to donate to the poor on 26th December. Giving gifts in some form or another has been around for as long as humanity itself.
Today there appears to be three main reasons for volunteering. The Third Sector Protect, found that:
46% of volunteers did so because they wanted to help and improve things for others.
31% identified with the cause in some way, and it was, therefore important for them.
25% of respondents volunteered because they had spare time and felt it was worthwhile.
The greatest gift we can give is ourselves
With your help, time and love, we would like to help fulfill the Christmas dreams of children in our community for next year – but we can’t do it alone. You can make it possible for us to help even more children by volunteering as a shopper for school supplies to a child in need. KKIS is looking for volunteer shoppers to help us help kids have a truly magical Christmas. KKIS helps hundreds of children each year, and it takes a lot of time – and people power – to make sure no child gets left behind. That is why we ask that you help us.
Please help us spread the word
Even if you cannot join us, you can still help by letting your friends, family, local community and businesses know about our work. Please pass this information along to your churches, civic organizations, friends and family, and any other organizations you work with. Our volunteers are the only way we can shop for hundreds of children from Playa Del Carmen each year.
Please consider becoming a volunteer and helping us help others this season. You can contact us for more information about volunteering or about sponsorship opportunities. All proceeds go to the families we help. Thank you for your love and support!
Volunteer with KKIS PROJECT and help us reach every child in need.
