Empowering Students Through Education and Access

Ensuring education access for students in Playa del Carmen is at the heart of everything we do at KKIS. For the second time, Randstad Canada has partnered with KKIS to create lasting change in the lives of our students. In 2023, their dedicated team assembled over 300 school supply bags, ensuring that students had the tools they needed to succeed. This year, they went a step further—building 13 bicycles to help students in Playa del Carmen reach their schools more efficiently, improving education access for students in Playa del Carmen.

Why Transportation Matters for Education

Many of our students face significant challenges just to reach their schools. Some must travel over 90 minutes each way due to the lack of school buses in Playa del Carmen. These bicycles are not just a means of transportation; they are a lifeline to education, opportunity, and a brighter future. By improving education access for students in Playa del Carmen, we ensure they have the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

A Student’s Voice: Kristian’s Story

During the event, Kristian, one of the four university students who attended, shared his journey and the impact of initiatives like this. Kristian is currently studying Tourism Business Administration and spoke passionately about what drives him: “I’m doing this inspired by my grandfather. He told me he doesn’t regret the choices he made, but he wishes he had done more.” His heartfelt words resonated deeply with the Randstad Canada team and reminded us why expanding education access for students in Playa del Carmen matters.

Thank You, Randstad Canada!

This event would not have been possible without the generosity and hard work of Randstad Canada and U First Events, a division of Uniglobe Specialty Travel. Their dedication to making a difference exemplifies the power of corporate social responsibility in advancing education access for students in Playa del Carmen.

KKIS Vision

Improving lives through education.

KKIS (Keeping Kids in School) works to build stronger communities in Playa del Carmen by eliminating financial obstacles to public education. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn and succeed, and we are dedicated to making education accessible and affordable for promising students in our community.

KKIS Mission

KKIS provides programming that improves graduation rates for promising students and prepares them for life success by offering financial aid, community connections, and educational support. In addition to academics, KKIS helps students develop essential language, life, and work skills to build a stronger community.

Recognizing that education is often unaffordable for many families in Mexico, we remove financial barriers to keep kids in school through generous donations from individuals and companies who share our values and vision.
