KKIS scholarship students experienced first-hand the day-to-day in the hospitality industry after a recent visit to the stunning Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen. This incredible event, generously hosted by the Hyatt as part of their World of Care social responsibility program, provided students with a unique opportunity to learn about various hotel departments and the diverse career paths available within them.

An Inspiring Day Filled with Learning and Exploration

The day kicked off with a series of vocational presentations led by the heads of each department at the Grand Hyatt. From housekeeping and culinary arts to guest services and event management, students gained valuable insights into the daily operations of a world-class resort. Each department head shed light on the specific roles and responsibilities within their team, highlighting the skills and qualifications needed for success.

Following the presentations, students embarked on a guided tour through the hotel’s captivating public areas. This immersive experience allowed them to witness firsthand the dedication and teamwork required to deliver exceptional guest experiences. From the bustling lobby to the serene poolside, students gained a comprehensive understanding of the diverse roles that contribute to a smoothly functioning hotel.

The Power of Partnerships: Empowering Youth Through Exposure

The KKIS team extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen for their incredible hospitality and commitment to youth development. This insightful event not only sparked students’ interest in the hospitality industry but also provided them with valuable career guidance. By fostering partnerships like this, KKIS can equip students with the knowledge and inspiration they need to pursue their dreams.
