Building Bridges in Cancun: Teamwork With Purpose

North Point Hospitality returned for its second year of CSR team building in Cancun, partnering with The KKIS Project to combine impact with engagement, reinforcing their commitment to meaningful corporate social responsibility. Held at the JW Marriott in Cancun, the “Building Bridges” team-building experience brought together company leaders to connect, collaborate, and give back.

Why CSR Team Building in Cancun Makes an Impact

Participants were challenged to build functional bridges using only basic materials—cardboard, rope, and wooden sticks. While the activity encouraged creative thinking and teamwork, its deeper value was clear: real collaboration creates real impact. Activities like this show how a well-designed CSR team building event can create lasting memories and real-world change for local communities.

By the end of the day, North Point presented a $3,000 USD donation, directly benefiting 158 local students through KKIS educational programs.

“We’re proud to give back to the community alongside GRUPO and KKIS,”
Gina Pepper, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales, North Point Hospitality

Why It Matters

Access to education changes lives—and businesses like North Point are helping make that change happen. Their ongoing support allows students like Yuliana, a first-year university student studying Gastronomy, to continue her studies and pursue long-term goals like a Master’s in Bioengineering to help combat diabetes in her community.

Their collaboration with KKIS proves that CSR doesn’t have to be passive—it can be active, engaging, and tied directly to impact. This partnership demonstrates how CSR in Cancun can be meaningful for both corporate teams and students alike.

A Model for Purposeful Engagement

North Point Hospitality’s approach to team-building and philanthropy sets an example for other organizations looking to make their off-site experiences more meaningful. By combining a dynamic activity with a tangible outcome, they’ve shown how companies can strengthen internal teams while positively impacting local communities.

KKIS Vision

Improving lives through education.

KKIS (Keeping Kids in School) works to build stronger communities in Playa del Carmen by eliminating financial obstacles to public education. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn and succeed, and we are dedicated to making education accessible and affordable for promising students in our community.

KKIS Mission

KKIS provides programming that improves graduation rates for promising students and prepares them for life success by offering financial aid, community connections, and educational support. In addition to academics, KKIS helps students develop essential language, life, and work skills to build a stronger community.

Recognizing that education is often unaffordable for many families in Mexico, we remove financial barriers to keep kids in school through generous donations from individuals and companies who share our values and vision.
