Make a Local Impact, One Hour at a Time
Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back while in Playa del Carmen? Whether you’re a full-time resident, a snowbird, a retiree, or a traveler with a free afternoon, volunteering with The KKIS Project is one of the most rewarding ways to connect with local students—and help them stay in school.
We offer flexible, year-round volunteer opportunities where your time directly contributes to improving education access in the Riviera Maya. Every pencil packed, every backpack delivered, and every event supported brings real impact to students who need it most.
Why Volunteer with KKIS?
KKIS started in 2011 – since then over 15,000 backpacks delivered and more than 500 scholarships awarded, our work is powered by a dedicated network of volunteers from around the world.
When you volunteer with KKIS, you’re not just donating time—you’re joining a movement built on connection, trust, and community.
You’ll experience:
- Direct contact with KKIS staff and partner schools
- Behind-the-scenes access to one of Playa’s most trusted nonprofits
- A chance to meet fellow volunteers from around the globe
- The joy of seeing a student’s face light up with opportunity
