April the 30th is a very special day in Mexico as the entire country celebrates Children’s Day.
We couldn’t stay behind, so we joined forces with Hotel Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen to bring joy to children from DIF Playa del Carmen and orphaned girls from Cancun.
Staff members of the program Hyatt Thrive volunteered to cook pizzas, play with water balloons, dance, sing and visit the beach with the kids.
The most outstanding activity was when Lifeguard Lauro Reyes joined the children at the beach to share with them his love for the Ocean and the importance of keeping our beaches clean, as Lauro himself picks cigarette butts from the sand every day.
The celebration ended with the staff greeting the kids goodbye but not before handing out bags filled with candy.
