The school where the KKIS Project volunteers have been working held a Posada before Christmas. The kids stayed inside the school with the lights turned off while the adults stood outside singing a song asking shelter for the Virgin Mary and Joseph. The children sang in return a welcome, the lights came on and the party began.
There was a piñata hung from the huge tree outside which the kids cracked open and scrambled for the candy inside, gifts were provided for each child from the administrators, Christmas carols in both Spanish and English were sung and many hugs were given. It was a great way to officially start the Holiday season.
