KKIS Scholarship Students
Graduation.

The KKIS Scholarship Program for high school students in Playa del Carmen has 11 graduates this year. They were celebrated with a party at El Jardin restaurant with 120 people in attendance: family, friends, mentors, teachers and the KKIS Board of Directors. It was a wonderful experience with good food, music and only a few short speeches.
These scholarships pay school fees, school supplies, books, uniforms and transportation. A young adult mentor is assigned to each students and meets monthly with the student to deliver transportation money and listen to stories of their lives. KKIS plans to help 40 students in this way during the next school year.
A business in Playa, Value Traded, sponsored 16 students during the winter semester and provided mentors from their work force. KKIS is hoping for more community support like this in the future.
