Fred Uriarte, the KKIS Project scholarship program organizer, planned a pizza party for all 32 of the KKIS high school scholarship students and their mentors last Saturday, March 19. Each of these students receives help with school fees, uniforms, school supplies, books and transportation which cost about $500 USD per student for a full year. For many of these students this allows them to continue their studies rather than working full time. School administrators provide KKIS with a list of students who are aspiring and most in need.
If you would like to help future Scholarship students please donate on our website: www.kkisproject.org.
The party was well attended and very good for us to put names and faces together, hear the triumphs and troubles of these students and help where we could.
The pizza arrived and was well received, very short speeches were made and we enjoyed each others’ company.
